Guy Garvey waves goodbye to X and joins 6Music

Elbow frontman Guy Garvey has presented his final show on XFM, following news of his move to BBC 6Music.

Garvey's 'Payola' show on Sunday nights started just 12 months ago when XFM Manchester launched.

It has recently been networked across all three XFM stations — in Manchester, London and central Scotland.

To celebrate his final show on the station, Garvey invited his fellow band members from Elbow to co-present the programme.

Garvey joins BBC 6Music, where he will front a Sunday night show between 10pm and midnight from next weekend.

He is the latest XFM signing to jump ship to the BBC.

Last month, it was announced that former XFM presenter Shaun Keaveny was to replace Phill Jupitus on 6Music breakfast.

Keaveny starts in his new slot this morning (Monday).
