Aspiring radio producers are being offered the chance to get their programme idea aired on Radio 1 or Channel 4 Radio in the Radio Academy's answer to the "Dragons' Den".This April's Production 07 conference will include a live pitching session in which five individuals will present their ideas for a 30-minute radio documentary to bosses at the BBC and Channel 4.
The winning contestant will be offered a budget and guidance to help them turn their idea into an actual programme.
The Radio Academy is accepting entries from anyone until 28 February. A shortlist will be announced on 16 March, with the five best submissions invited to pitch their idea live at Production 07 on 19 April.
The Radio 1 brief is for a compelling documentary for 16-24 year olds. The C4 Radio pitch can be slightly broader — appealing to 16-34 year olds.
