Sunderland cabbie banned for listening to radio

A Sunderland taxi driver has been banned from the school run after complaints that he plays his car radio too loud.

Ian Leadbitter - a cabbie for nine years - takes three autistic children to school each day, but has now been stripped of his school run licence by Sunderland council.

Teachers told the Sunderland Echo that children were coming to school 'distressed' after listening to the radio 'blasting' on the way to school.

Leadbitter has vowed to fight to overturn the ban.
