XFM boosts online members' area

Xfm has unveiled a new-look members' club on its website, named "XfmPlus"

The subscription-only section promises to bring exclusive new content to listeners, including broadband-quality videos of Xfm gig nights across the network's three stations in London, Manchester and Central Scotland.

The GCap indie rock brand has also launched a monthly newsletter to give listeners a preview of what's coming up on the station and on the website in the forthcoming weeks.

The relaunch is part of a drive to keep the site's subscriber data up-to-date. Members are asked to provide their address and contact details, with the incentive of being able to enter competitions automatically without having to fill in any forms.

The new section launched this week with fresh content including streaming video of The Rapture's gig at the Islington Academy and an exclusive interview with Jake Shears from The Scissor Sisters.

  • Meanwhile, Xfm has launched a new weekend request show, called Your Xfm. The one-hour programme airs every Sunday evening between 6pm and 7pm on Xfm London (presented by Claire Sturgess) and Manchester (hosted by Tim Cocker), with listeners who get their request played put into a draw to win a mobile phone from the show's sponsor, 3.
