South-east London's new community radio station has announced it is to launch on Sunday 26 November.
TGR Sound — a project run by the Bexley Community Media Association (BCMA) — was awarded an FM community radio licence by Ofcom in February this year.
The Erith-based station will broadcast to the northern parts of the London borough of Bexley on 103.7FM.
TGR Sound project manager Andy Sayers has confirmed that the station will launch at 10.37am on the Sunday morning, with an official launch celebration taking place the following day (27 November).
The community station started out in 2004 as an internet-only operation while BCMA put together its application to Ofcom.
Announcing its decision to award a licence to TGR in February this year, Ofcom said: "Members of TGR Sound have gained useful and relevant experience through broadcasting on the internet, commercial radio and RSLs. The group demonstrates well-researched, appropriate and distinct programming."
