How the wrong sort of radio adds to CO2 emissions

Listening to radio through a digital television set is pumping almost 200,000 extra tonnes of carbon dioxide into the air each year, according to a Guardian report.

Rajar figures show 22% of Britons tune in to radio via Freeview, cable and satellite.

But power-hungry TVs consume around 10 time more energy than a digital or analogue radio set.
