Gaydar's 17-hour marathon for World Aids Day

Gaydar Radio has announced plans for a 17-hour charity radiothon to mark World Aids Day on 1 December.

The digital dance and pop station for the gay community will broadcast live from a number of London venues from 7am to midnight on the day to raise money for Aids charities.

The radiothon starts in the heart of London's Soho from 7am to 11am before moving onto Comptons gay pub during the day, ending up at Bar Code in Vauxhall from 6pm to midnight.

The station will also broadcast a series of personal testimonials from people with HIV throughout the day.

Gaydar programme controller Robin Crowley said: “We're dedicating our entire output to the HIV cause. Our aim is to encourage listeners to donate to the charity of their choice, remind people about safe sex and to tackle the stigma that still surrounds HIV.”
